You need to be absolutely certain that the seller does have the right to sell that particular timeshare, and you also need to know that you will be able to sell it without penalty in due course.
Buying timeshares for sale by owners will carry much less risk if you go to a known reputable timeshare resort. In this case, your main worry will be whether or not the seller is fairly representing what they are offering. This is quite easy to check out if you know what to look for in these type of contracts, and you can also confirm this by checking with the resort. Never buy on impulse, do the proper research, and you should stay safe when buying timeshares for sale by owner.
